About Us

Ohana Kids is the first player-centered academy based on Hawaii, focused on soccer technically, mentally, and physically founded by Javier Risco, an ex-pro player from Spain along with Christian Porras, ex collegiate soccer player from a D1 mainland school. Javier and Christian are currently coaching collegiate level, and saw the need for improvement of the young Hawaiian soccer community to improve their skills in technical, physical, tactical, and mental areas.

We can’t say enough good things about Coach Christian and Coach Javi!  They have been working with our children (ages 4 and 6) for almost a year now and are excellent coaches.  Not only are they skilled soccer players, but they are also so amazing with kids.  They are patient, fun, energetic and passionate.  We started with one team and have grown to six teams, all through word of mouth from happy parents.  The coaches set up a variety of age-appropriate drills that keep the kids engaged during our practices.

Despite the pandemic, we feel very safe with Lucas participating with Ohana Kids Soccer.  All of the coaches and families have taken extra precautions to keep their children as safe as possible. I would highly recommend Ohana Kids Soccer to any child who is interested in playing soccer and learning the proper skills as a beginner or at a competitive level.  Coach Javi and Christian are very dedicated and passionate about coaching and your children will have fun and look forward to every practice!
